Short Margins

Margin Requirements refer to the proportion of the position size that needs to be set aside from the total capital to facilitate the execution of a Short position.

Configuring Margins

Users have the flexibility to set their own margin requirements on the platform, reflecting their broker’s fee structure.

How to configure margins

On the bot builder page, click on update bot details and then configure commissions to reflect broker’s fee structure.

Note

Our calculation assumes that if prices move in the unfavorable direction and deplete the entire margin, the trade will automatically be closed. Currently, the platform does not feature Margin Call functionality; however, it is slated for inclusion in the near future.

It is important to note that when the capital becomes negative, the strategy halts and displays an error message, stating, “The strategy could not be run due to a lack of capital; please increase the initial_capital in the strategy_info of the code.
