About Nifty Metal The Nifty Metal Index is a sectoral index on the National Stock Exchange of India that tracks the performance of 15 companies in the metals and mining sector. It includes companies involved in the extraction, processing, and distribution of metals such as iron ore, steel, aluminum, zinc, and copper. The index is calculated using the free float market capitalization method, reflecting the total free float market value of all the stocks in the index relative to a particular base market capitalization value. It is reconstituted semi-annually and can be used for various purposes such as benchmarking fund portfolios, launching index funds, ETFs, and structured products.
