Yarn Syndicate Limited, part of the Patodia-YSL group, was established in 1946 as a Public Limited Company. It is recognized as a pioneering exporter of various types of yarn, including cotton, polyester, viscose, flax, jute, bamboo, and organic yarn, from India. To enhance its offerings, the company set up a knitting fabric and dyed yarn manufacturing facility in Tamil Nadu in 1994, though the latter was never realized due to local opposition. The company has been recognized with awards for its export achievements, notably in the 1996-97 period.
In a strategic shift, Yarn Syndicate Limited sold its Home Textiles unit in Gujarat in 2008 due to financial strains. In November 2022, a significant change in ownership occurred when Mr. Ravi Niranjan Pandya acquired a controlling 35.03% stake from Ms. Sheela Patodia. This acquisition signaled a new phase for the company, positioning it for potential growth under new leadership.
