Winsome Yarns, incorporated in July 1990, is a producer of combed and carded cotton yarn, ranging from 20s to 40s count. Initially established by Winsome Textile Industries and the Punjab State Industrial Development Corporation, the company caters primarily to the knitting and weaving industries. The company launched a public issue in 1993 to fund a 100% export-oriented spinning mill, commencing production in April 1994. Over time, Winsome Yarns has steadily expanded its capacity, adding spindles and acquiring balancing equipment with financial backing from IFCI and Canara Bank.
The company made significant expansions and upgrades, including adding 60,000 spindles and 180 knitting machines at its facilities and implementing a 3.9 MW Micro Hydel Power Project across multiple locations in Punjab. With a strategic focus on capacity expansion and energy projects, Winsome Yarns positions itself as a robust player in the textile manufacturing sector, enhancing its production capabilities and energy efficiency.
