About Warren Tea Ltd Warren Tea Ltd, established in 1977, initially operated 13 tea gardens in Upper Assam as an associate of James Warren. Over the years, the company diversified its operations beyond tea plantations into sectors such as sugar manufacturing, engineering, and cement production. Notably, Warren Tea acquired a stake in Vegepro Foods & Feeds and engaged in various mergers and acquisitions, including the amalgamation with Warren Metal Industries in 1997-98 and restructuring deals in 2004-05 and 2014.
In 2022, Warren Tea Ltd decided to exit its traditional tea plantation and manufacturing business, shifting focus to retail consumer marketing and exporting teas to CIS, Eastern Europe, and Gulf countries. This strategic pivot involved selling its remaining tea estates and underscores the company's adaptation to changing market dynamics, aiming to enhance its presence in international markets. These transformations mark Warren Tea's evolution from a tea plantation company to a diversified entity with a focus on retail and export.
