VSF Projects Limited, originally Vijaya Shrimp Farms and Export Ltd, was incorporated in June 1992. The company initially focused on shrimp and prawn culture, establishing an aquaculture farm in Andhra Pradesh to cultivate the Black Tiger variety as a 100% export-oriented unit. However, environmental challenges such as cyclones, floods, and viral diseases severely impacted operations, leading to the closure of its hatchery unit and a pause on shrimp farming activities.
In May 2005, the company rebranded as VSF Projects Limited, shifting its focus to construction and infrastructure development. To diversify its operations, VSF Projects ventured into energy, incorporating a wholly owned subsidiary, VSF Energy Projects Private Limited, in March 2011 to execute a proposed 350 MW Super Critical Thermal Power Project. This strategic pivot reflects the company's adaptation to changing market dynamics and its efforts to leverage new growth opportunities in infrastructure and energy sectors.
