Venlon Enterprises Limited, originally Venlon Polyester Film Limited, was incorporated in 1983 and went public in 1987. The company, under the leadership of Chandru Datwani, initially focused on manufacturing polyester film (BOPF) and established a plant in Belwadi, Karnataka. It undertook a backward integration project by commissioning a PET chips plant in 1995, enhancing raw material cost efficiency. Additionally, the company ventured into metallizing and lacquering packaging and set up a paraformaldehyde plant in 2006.
Historically, Venlon Enterprises was involved in producing polyester film, formaldehyde, and paraformaldehyde, and operated a windmill for power sales. However, by 2021-22, the company ceased all manufacturing activities and focused solely on operating the windmill. In 2022-23, it halted windmill operations and began liquidating its windmill assets, marking a significant shift in its business operations. This transition highlights the company's move away from manufacturing towards asset liquidation.
