About Vardhman Polytex Ltd Vardman Polytex Ltd. (VPL) is a joint venture between Mohta Industries and the Punjab State Industrial Development Corporation, specializing in the manufacturing of yarn and garments. Originally incorporated as Punjab Mohta Polytex, VPL produces a variety of yarns including 100% cotton, acrylic, acrylic cotton, polyester cotton, and tyre cord yarn. The company exports its products to several international markets, including the UK, Belgium, and Germany.
VPL has undergone significant expansions and upgrades over the years. Notably, it established a 100% Export Oriented Unit in 1995, expanded its Baddi unit in 1999, and continued to modernize its Bathinda unit. The company also set up a new unit, Vinayak Textile Mills, in Ludhiana during 2003-04. Further extending its capabilities, VPL acquired the assets of F.M. Hämmerle from Austria in 2008 and incorporated garment manufacturing into its operations through the amalgamation of M/s Amkryon International. In 2013-14, VPL expanded its spinning capacity at Nalagarh to 40,800 spindles.
