About Transrail Lighting Ltd Transrail Lighting Limited, incorporated in February 2008, is a prominent Indian engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) company specializing in the power transmission and distribution (T&D) sector. Backed by integrated manufacturing facilities for lattice structures, conductors, and monopoles, the company also operates in verticals like civil construction, poles and lighting, and railways. It offers EPC services for substations up to 765kV, contributing to India's growing T&D infrastructure, which has expanded significantly from 413,407 CKM in March 2019 to 485,544 CKM by March 2024.
Established as Associated Transrail Structures Ltd in 1993, the company's evolution includes milestones such as its first tower manufacturing factory in Baroda, India, in 1993, and additional facilities in Butibori and Silvassa by 2007. By 2017, Transrail consolidated its T&D operations after acquiring tower testing and manufacturing facilities from Gammon India Limited, further boosting its capabilities. The company expanded into LED lighting fixtures in 2018, commissioned its first underground cabling project in 2022-23, and now offers a comprehensive portfolio ranging from overhead transmission lines to underground cables and substations.
With a track record of more than 200 completed projects domestically and internationally, Transrail’s extensive execution capabilities include self-manufactured materials and advanced machinery. The company’s diversified revenue streams, including its foray into luminaries, civil engineering, and underground cabling, position it as a leader in the Indian EPC sector.
In December 2024, Transrail Lighting Limited raised Rs. 839 crore through an initial public offering (IPO) to support its growth initiatives. By leveraging its pre-qualifications and expertise in the T&D sector, the company continues to solidify its position as a key player in India’s infrastructure and energy sectors.
