The Indian Wood Products Company Limited, established in 1919, specializes in the manufacturing of Katha in India. Initially founded by Mr. H N Gladstone and others from London, the company underwent a management transition in 1980. It has since expanded its operations significantly, including an exclusive contract manufacturing agreement with Nanhe Mal Agro (India) Limited in Daman-UT in 2015. The company further extended its manufacturing capabilities by acquiring and setting up a plant in Baroda in 2016.
In 2018, the company diversified its product offerings by commencing the production of Gambier extracts in Indonesia through a joint venture, Agro and Spice Pte. Ltd., Singapore. Moreover, in 2019, it launched a new product line of spices under the brand name IWP in Eastern & Central Uttar Pradesh and Assam. By 2020, it began commercial production of Katha & Cutch in Jammu & Kashmir, showcasing its strategic growth and expansion in both domestic and international markets.
