About Texel Industries Ltd Texel Industries Ltd., established in 1989 and initially known as Texel Plastics Pvt Ltd, specializes in producing speciality coated fabrics and protective covers. Operating from its plant in Kalol, Gujarat, the company manufactures a diverse range of products including tarpaulins, geomembranes, and tunnel lining membranes, which are integral in various infrastructure applications such as effluent storage, building foundations, and road construction. Texel Industries has also innovated products like highly chemical-resistant geo membranes for industrial clients such as Hindustan Copper and Chambal Fertilizers and Chemicals.
The company has expanded its production capabilities significantly, with a new factory set up in 1995 and further diversification into coated paper for flexible packaging. In 2018-19, Texel enhanced its facilities with a new multilayered geo composite resin coating machine, and in 2022, commenced operations at a new manufacturing facility in Kheda, Gujarat, with a capacity of 10,080 metric tonnes per annum for geosynthetics products. Despite past economic challenges, Texel has secured substantial contracts to boost its geomembrane product turnover.
