About Tata Motors Ltd Tata Motors Limited, formerly known as Tata Motors Commercial Vehicles Limited, is a leading manufacturer in India’s commercial vehicle (CV) sector. Initially incorporated on June 23, 2024, as a public limited company, the name was changed to Tata Motors Limited on October 29, 2025, following a Composite Scheme of Arrangement. The restructuring resulted in the demerger of the commercial vehicle business from the passenger vehicle business, effectively operational from July 1, 2025, and officially implemented on October 1, 2025.
