About Tanfac Industries Ltd TANFAC Industries Limited, a joint venture between Anupam Rasayan India Limited and the Tamil Nadu Industrial Development Corporation Limited (TIDCO), is a leading Indian supplier of fluorine chemicals, established in 1972. Operating from Cuddalore, Tamil Nadu, the company produces an array of chemicals including aluminium fluoride, sulphuric acid, oleum, and anhydrous hydrofluoric acid, with technical partnerships from firms in Switzerland and Germany. TANFAC expanded into Organo Fluorine Chemicals in 1998-99 to supply intermediates for antibiotics production, utilizing technology from China. Despite challenges, such as the suspension of DFCA production due to unfavorable market conditions, TANFAC has innovated with new processes in inorganic fluorine chemicals. The company also enhances its operations with a 2.23 MW captive power plant and began operations of a Poly Aluminium Chloride plant in 2015, reflecting its commitment to diversification and self-sufficiency in energy.
