About Tamil Nadu Petro Products Ltd Tamilnadu Petroproducts Limited (TPL), established in 1984, is a significant player in the petrochemical industry, producing Linear Alkyl Benzene (LAB), Epichlorohydrin (ECH), and Caustic Soda at its Manali facility near Chennai. LAB is pivotal in manufacturing detergents and cleaning agents, while ECH and Caustic Soda find applications in epoxy resins and textiles. Initially promoted by Tamil Nadu Industrial Development Corporation Ltd. (TIDCO) and later joined by Southern Petrochemical Industries Corporation Ltd. (SPIC), TPL has expanded its operations and capacities over the decades.
The company has shown robust growth, increasing LAB production capacity to 120,000 MT per annum by 2007 and evolving its ECH facility to produce Propylene Oxide by 2018-19.
