Sunflag Iron and Steel Company Ltd, a unit of the Sunflag Group, was founded in 1984 and operates an advanced integrated facility in Bhandara, India. It produces 200,000 tonnes of high-quality steel annually, primarily serving the automotive, engineering, and forgings industries. The company's production focuses on spring steel, which accounts for 70% of its output. Sunflag's state-of-the-art plant includes a 150,000 tonnes per annum Direct Reduction Plant for sponge iron production and an ultra-modern continuous mill for billet rolling.
Significant enhancements to the facility have included a 15.5-MW waste heat recovery project, a 10-MW captive power plant, and a joint venture with Daido Steel Co. Ltd. The company has expanded its capabilities by commissioning various projects, such as the Super Alloy Project and Blooming Mill. Sunflag Iron and Steel continues to innovate with installations like the induction furnace and alloy feeding system, aiming to boost productivity and reduce environmental impact.
