Surya Knitwears, established in February 1995 as a public limited company, is led by Parmod K Jain, Rajiv Jain, Shashi Jain, Sat Pal Jain, Vikas Sharma, and Rashmi Khanna. The company is developing a facility in Ludhiana, Punjab, to produce cotton, acrylic, and polyester knitted garments with an annual capacity of 324,000 pieces. To support this project, Surya Knitwears launched a public issue in February 1996.
The company is committed to exporting 50% of its production and has engaged in arrangements with Pailung Machinery Co. from Taiwan to manage the export of garments produced on their circular machines. However, a formal agreement with the Taiwanese company is still pending. This strategic export plan is critical for Surya Knitwears as it seeks to establish a strong foothold in the international market.
