Subhash Silk Mills Limited (SSML) is a prominent player in India's art-silk textile industry, founded in 1949 and becoming a public limited company by 1994. The company expanded its operations through a public issue in 1995, which funded the relocation of its manufacturing facilities and workforce restructuring. Specializing in the production of fashion fabrics, dress materials, and jacquards, SSML also manufactures and markets shirts and ties under the Cameo brand. Despite being under lockout since March 1998, the company has ventured into the garment sector with Vastra Creations, supplying high-quality garments for corporates. SSML also exports to Gulf countries, with a notable presence in Saudi Arabia.
