About Sterling Tools Ltd Sterling Tools Limited (STL), founded in 1979, specializes in manufacturing high tensile cold forged fasteners primarily for the automotive sector. With a capacity of 7500 MTPA as of 2000-01, STL supplies to major OEMs like Hero Honda, Maruti, and Bajaj Auto. Known for its extensive product range of over 2000 fasteners, STL holds a strong market position, being the largest supplier to Hero Honda and second-largest to others like Maruti and TELCO. STL has expanded its manufacturing capabilities and geographic reach, with facilities in India and a focus on entering European markets.
STL has also ventured into joint ventures and subsidiaries to diversify its offerings. In 2010, it partnered with Fabory in the Netherlands to form Sterling Fabory India, and in 2020 established Sterling Gtake E-Mobility Limited for electric vehicle components in collaboration with Jiangsu Gtake Electric. STL is listed on the NSE and continues to enhance its production and market presence, including a new facility in Bengaluru operational since FY 2018-19.
