SS Retail Limited, incorporated in Kolhapur, Maharashtra on June 14, 2016 as SS Communication & Services Private Limited, later changed its name to SS Retail Private Limited (July 15, 2025) and converted into a public limited company as SS Retail Limited (September 26, 2025).
The company is primarily engaged in selling consumer electronics through a chain of retail stores across Maharashtra, Karnataka, Goa and Madhya Pradesh. Its product mix includes mobile phones and accessories as well as other electronics such as TVs, laptops and tablets.
In 2018, SS Retail acquired inventory of mobile phones, accessories and other electronic items from stores operated by S.S. Communication & Services, a sole proprietorship of Siddharth G. Shah. The company expanded beyond Maharashtra into Goa in 2019 and launched the brands “Mobile Exchange Wala” and “The Mobile Space” in 2023.
The company reported rapid store expansion, stating it opened nearly 55 stores in 2025 and over 110 stores, taking total store count to 347 as of March 2025. It has filed a Draft Red Herring Prospectus with SEBI and plans an IPO of Rs 500 crore, comprising a fresh issue of Rs 300 crore and an offer for sale of Rs 200 crore (equity shares of face value Rs 10 each).
