Spencer's Retail Limited, part of the RP Sanjiv Goenka Group, is a prominent Indian multi-format retailer based in Kolkata. Established in 2017, the company offers a diverse range of products, including food and non-food items such as fashion, staples, personal care, and home essentials. It has carved out niche segments with Spencer's Gourmet, Patisserie, and Wine and Liquor. With a strong brand presence, Spencer's operates nearly 190 stores across 42 Indian cities, including 36 Nature's Basket outlets. Its retail operations are divided into small-format stores up to 5,000 sq. ft. for daily shopping and large-format stores exceeding 5,000 sq. ft. for more extensive needs.
The company launched its first hypermarket in 2002 and expanded its national footprint significantly with the acquisition of Nature's Basket in 2019, enabling its entry into western India. Spencer's Retail continues to grow, opening additional stores annually, and maintains wholly-owned subsidiaries, Omnipresent Retail India Private Limited and Nature's Basket Limited.
