Simplex Realty Ltd, originally incorporated as The Simplex Mills Ltd in 1912, transitioned from a textile manufacturing company to a real estate developer. Initially managed by Allen Bros. & Co., it underwent several management changes before S R Damani took over in 1960. The company initially focused on producing grey cloth and later expanded into a variety of textiles. It diversified into paper manufacturing in 1981 by setting up a mill in Gondia, Maharashtra, and went public in 1992 to fund modernization efforts.
In 2005, Simplex Realty demerged its paper and textile divisions, transferring them to subsidiaries, and rebranded to focus on real estate. The company acquired Simplex Renewable Resources Private Limited in 2010-11, marking its venture into sustainable projects. Notable real estate developments include the 'Simplex KhushAangan' in Mumbai and a villa project in Goa completed in 2023. Simplex Realty Ltd now specializes in developing residential and commercial properties.
