Shreyas Intermediates Limited (SIL), established in November 1989 and converted to a public entity in April 1992, specializes in manufacturing naphthalene-based dye intermediates, dyes, pigments, and pigment intermediates. Under the leadership of Managing Director Dinesh Sharma, SIL initially produced H-acid but later pivoted to pigments and copper phthalocyanine products due to profitability issues. The company's plant, located in Ratnagiri, Maharashtra, initially produced H-acid but was converted to manufacture CPC crude by 2001-02.
In 1993, SIL launched an IPO to fund the production of copper phthalocyanine blue and green, catering to markets in the US and Germany. The company's products serve industries such as plastics, inks, and paints. In 2004, SIL expanded through the amalgamation with Shruti Colorants Limited, enhancing its asset base. In 2007, SIL established a new Export Oriented Unit (EOU) in Ratnagiri to increase its production capacity for CPC Blue and Green, marking a significant step in its export capabilities.
