Shree Digvijay Cement Co. Ltd (SDCL), established in 1944, is engaged in the manufacturing and sale of cement with its primary facility located in Sikka, Jamnagar. The company launched its cement production in 1949 under the brand 'Lotus' and has diversified over the years, including ventures in asbestos and synthetic fibers. A restructuring in the 1990s saw the transfer of several divisions to Gujarat Composites, and it ceased operations in the synthetic division by 1986. Facing financial challenges, SDCL was declared a Sick Industrial Company in 1999-2000, but completed a modernization initiative by 2001.
Ownership changes have seen major stakes being transferred, with Cimpor, Votorantim, and True North Fund VI LLP successively holding significant shares. True North Fund VI LLP became the promoter in 2019. SDCL has continued to innovate, commissioning a Waste Heat Recovery Project in 2012-13, and establishing a logistics subsidiary, SDCCL Logistics Limited, in 2020.
