Shree Balaji (Mala) Textiles began as a proprietorship, “Shree Balaji Textile,” founded by promoter Mr. Binod Kumar Kedia as a trader of cotton sarees in the women’s apparel segment. To provide perpetual succession, the Kedia family incorporated Shree Balaji (Mala) Textiles Private Limited in September 2005, and the proprietorship business was taken over by the company through a Business Takeover Agreement dated June 27, 2006. In March 2025, it was converted into a Public Limited Company, while continuing with the same core values, principles, and management team.
The company has evolved into a B2B saree manufacturer with a focus on quality and innovation. As of March 31, 2025, it has sold around 75,00,000 units of sarees. It has been in women’s apparel for over three decades, and highlights long-standing relationships with weavers and suppliers as a key competitive strength.
Its supplier/manufacturing network spans major textile hubs including Surat, Mumbai, Kolkata, Jetpur, and Rajkot. The product portfolio covers a wide range of Indian wear within the women’s apparel segment, with sarees categorized by occasion, fabric, weave, and pattern. Most of its revenue is generated from the sale of cotton sarees, supported by a focus on trending fashion designs and year-round product variety.
The company is planning an initial public offer comprising a fresh issue of 27,00,000 equity shares of face value Rs 10 each.
