Operating from factories in Bangalore and Mumbai, Shetron expanded its capabilities in 1993 with a public issue to fund the development of manufacturing facilities in Bangalore. In 2007, a joint venture with Denmark's Metropak A/S led to the production of SAF KAPS. The company further diversified by entering industrial packaging for non-agro products in 2022.
