Sharp India Ltd, initially formed as Kalyani Telecommunications and Electronics Pvt Ltd in 1985, evolved through a series of name changes, finally becoming Sharp India Ltd in 2005. The company, promoted by Bharat Forge and in collaboration with Sharp Corporation, Japan, began by manufacturing VCRs and other consumer electronics. Under Japanese management since 1995, it expanded its product line under the Sharp brand, including TVs, audio products, and later, a diverse range of office and home solutions like printers, air purifiers, and kitchen appliances.
