Initially incorporated as Sharda Industries & Engineering Works Pvt Ltd, it became a public entity in 1985. SIL boasts over six decades of experience in the steel industry, catering to major automobile OEMs and industries like forging and bright bar. Its product portfolio includes hot rolled products of various grades, with a production capacity of 60,000 metric tons annually.
SIL underwent several expansions and modernizations, including setting up units at Hingna and Kamptee Road, enhancing its capacity to meet market demands. Despite its established market presence and clientele including TATA Motors and Mahindra & Mahindra, the company faced economic challenges in 1999, leading to its classification as a sick company. SIL is currently focused on rehabilitation efforts, banking on support from financial institutions to recover and restore its market position.
