The company, promoted by Mehta Integrated Finance, initially invested Rs. 50 lacs in building its housing finance portfolio, primarily targeting the Ahmedabad region. It provides loans for the purchase or construction of residential properties to individuals and extends financing to builders and developers. Additionally, Mehta Housing develops its own housing projects, offering dwelling units to consumers.
In January 1995, Mehta Housing launched a public issue of 15,00,000 equity shares to raise Rs. 3.75 lac, aimed at expanding its housing finance services and strengthening its capital base. In the financial year 2021-22, Mehta Housing diversified its interests by acquiring a 22.22% stake in Ruparel Food Specialties Private Limited, making it an associate company.
