Initially set up in collaboration with Rubfil, a subsidiary of Malaysia's Uniphoenix Corporation, the company has a 29.99% equity participation from its partner. Rubfila's products, marketed under the brand name Rubfil, serve as import substitutes in the garment industry's elastic tape production and have garnered international export orders.
The company has faced challenges such as rising latex prices and inadequate working capital, which it is addressing through bank facilities and by installing a centrifuging plant to improve latex quality and reduce production costs by 8%. In the late 1990s, Rubfila expanded its product line to include Silicon Coated Rubber Thread and received ISO 9002 certification, enhancing its competitiveness globally. The company has further expanded its production capacity to 25,000 MT per annum by 2022 and is exploring new avenues like software development and yarn trading through strategic partnerships and subsidiaries, such as Rubfila USA Inc.
