Remi Edelstahl Tubulars Ltd, established in 1970, is a prominent manufacturer of stainless steel pipes and tubes in India. The company operates its manufacturing facility in Tarapur, Maharashtra, and produces seamless and welded pipes as well as bright bars, with technical support from Kobe Steel, Japan. Initially incorporated as a private entity, it transitioned to a public company in December 1980. In 1991, Remi Edelstahl undertook a rights issue and later diversified into real estate development in 1994, although the weak market affected sales.
The company expanded its capabilities with a specialized stainless steel tubing project and a windmill project, completed in 2005-06, with a combined investment of Rs. 21 Crores. Despite challenges in real estate, the company continues to focus on its core manufacturing operations, bolstered by its ISO 9002 certification from TUV, ensuring quality standards in its products.
