Refex Industries Ltd., established in 2002, specializes in refilling eco-friendly Hydrofluorocarbons (HFCs) used in various refrigeration and air conditioning systems. The company capitalized on the ban of ozone-depleting Chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs) and Hydrochlorofluorocarbons (HCFCs) by importing HFCs and setting up a refilling plant near Chennai, India. With an initial capacity of 40MT per month, Refex expanded to 2500MT by FY 2021-22, enhancing its production with advanced infrastructure including ISO tanks.
Diversifying its portfolio, Refex ventured into solar energy in 2011 and coal trading in 2018. It also introduced innovative refrigeration products like R600 and R152a, and launched voltage stabilizers and outdoor unit stands. The company reduced its stake in Sherisa Technologies, ceasing its subsidiary status.
