Rajkamal Synthetics Ltd., established in May 1981, initially operated under the name Shree Balaji Calendering House Pvt Ltd and underwent several name changes before becoming a public limited company in December 1982. The company is engaged in trading and has a manufacturing presence in Surat, Gujarat. It began textile processing in 1982 and set up a notable cotton-cum-synthetic textile processing unit in Dombivli, Maharashtra, focusing on fabric and saree processing, bleaching, and calendering.
To enhance its trading operations, Rajkamal Synthetics launched the International Cloth Agency in Mumbai in 1986. Despite its early expansion efforts, including a significant enhancement of printing and dyeing capacities at its Sachin plant, the plant was closed in June 1993 due to insufficient working capital. Subsequently, the Sachin facility was sold in March 1996.
