Rajasthan Gases Limited (RGL), incorporated in 1993 and based in Jaipur, specializes in bottling and transporting liquified petroleum gas (LPG) in cylinders across Rajasthan. The company was founded by Roopchand Baid, who serves as the managing director, and Surjeet Singh. Initially focusing on gas filling and distribution, RGL is expanding its operations with a new 10,000 square foot warehouse. RGL commissioned its first LPG bottling facility with a capacity of 9,792 tons per annum (tpa) in Tonk, Rajasthan, in 1994. The company planned further expansion with a second plant in Bigga, designed for 24,192 tpa, though production was delayed due to rising raw material costs.
The company sources LPG from well-known suppliers like Bharat Shell and Essar World Trade and aims to diversify into transportation, leveraging its vehicle fleet. In 1996-97, RGL was appointed as a product facilitator for LPG transportation by Reliance Industries Ltd., underscoring its strategic role in the LPG supply chain.
