Raghunath International Ltd. (RIL), initially promoted by O P Agarwal, G C Gupta, and their associates, began as a manufacturer of pan masalas, gutkha, and mouth fresheners under the Sir brand. The company went public in February 1995 to fund its manufacturing facilities near Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh. However, due to a ban imposed in 2003 on its core products in several Indian states, including Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, and Kerala, RIL's business was significantly impacted.
In response to these regulatory challenges, RIL diversified into real estate development, marking a strategic shift from its original product line. The company also engages in trading various products in both domestic and international markets, showcasing its adaptability and pursuit of new business avenues. This diversification aims to mitigate risks associated with its traditional product lines and leverage growth opportunities in the real estate sector.
