RACL Geartech Ltd, formerly Raunaq Automotive Components Ltd, was established in 1989 to produce automotive components for a wide range of vehicles, including motorcycles, scooters, tractors, and commercial vehicles. Located in Gajraula, Uttar Pradesh, the company manufactures transmission gears and axle shafts, primarily serving original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) such as Escorts, Mahindra & Mahindra, and Ashok Leyland. Despite initial challenges due to industry recession and social unrest, RACL Geartech gained traction in the early 1990s with orders from major players like Yamaha and Hero.
The company diversified into industrial gears for applications like electrical switch gears and cranes. It has a strategic partnership with Piaggio Greaves Vehicles Ltd and has launched its own brand, Raunaq gears, in the replacement market. RACL Geartech successfully completed a Rehabilitation Scheme and was discharged by the Board for Industrial and Financial Reconstruction. In 2011, the company expanded its operations with a new unit in Noida.
