Prima Agro Limited, originally established as Prima Agro Products Ltd in 1987, is a Cochin-based industrial company engaged in the manufacturing of animal feed and agro-based products. The company was founded by Mr. Sajjan Kumar Gupta, a seasoned entrepreneur from a family with extensive experience in flour milling and commodity trading across India. Pivoting from flour milling, Prima Agro leveraged the diverse agricultural resources of Kerala to diversify into animal feeds, edible oil extraction and refining, and beverage bottling for the Parle Group.
Going public in 1993, Prima Agro's shares are listed on major Indian stock exchanges. The company operates two animal feed manufacturing plants in Kerala, with an annual production capacity of 60,000 MT. The Edayar plant underwent modernization in 2011-12, enhancing daily production capacity, and in 2013, the Trivandrum flour mill was converted into a cattle feed unit. Additional investments include a weighbridge and a wastewater treatment plant to support its operations.
