Prasol Chemicals Ltd. (formerly Prachi Poly Products) was incorporated in Mumbai on January 24, 1992 and has undergone multiple name changes, finally becoming Prasol Chemicals Limited effective February 4, 2022. The company operates manufacturing plants at Khopoli and Mahad in Maharashtra.
It is engaged in the manufacturing and trading of speciality chemicals and is positioned as a leading forward-integrated Indian manufacturer of acetone derivatives and phosphorus derivatives. Its product portfolio includes multiple acetone- and phosphorus-based derivatives used in the synthesis of agrochemical active ingredients (technicals) and formulations.
Strategically, the company diversified into phosphorus-based products for agrochemicals and performance chemicals in 1996, established an organic technology platform in 2003 (expanding into agrochemicals, performance chemicals, and home & personal care), and entered the pharmaceutical segment in 2007 with phosphorus-based products. It launched new acetone derivatives across agrochemicals, home & personal care, pharmaceuticals, and performance chemicals in 2009, and entered antioxidants and antiwear additives for lubricants in 2011. During 2015–17, it acquired land in Saykha Industrial Area (Gujarat) and Mahad (Maharashtra) on a leave and licence basis.
Operational expansion includes a cogeneration power plant at Khopoli in 2019 and, in 2020, commissioning a new Mahad site for agrochemical intermediates while expanding its global footprint to 45 countries. The company plans to raise capital via a public issue comprising a Rs. 250 crore fresh issue and an offer for sale of 9,00,000 equity shares.
