Prag Bosimi Synthetics (PBSL), incorporated in 1987, is a joint venture between Assam Industrial Development Corporation and Bombay Silk Mills focused on manufacturing polyester yarn. The company launched a public issue in 1992 to finance the production of polyester filament yarn and establish downstream facilities. Despite delays due to infrastructure and manpower challenges, they commenced production in 1993. The company has a technical collaboration with EMS Inventa, Switzerland, to enhance its production capabilities.
In subsequent years, PBSL faced financial hurdles, including a significant net loss in 1999-2000. The State Bank of India supported restructuring efforts, and PBSL eventually expanded by forming a subsidiary for a Textile Park Project in 2010 and introduced Bosimi Apparel in 2015. By 2018, PBSL had installed new machinery and began selling products in West Bengal and Assam. This history reflects PBSL's resilience and adaptability in overcoming operational and financial challenges to sustain its business.
