The company's evolution was marked by the demerger of its four key divisions—Metallic Oxides, Plastic Additives, Zinc Refining, and Lead Alloying & Refining—from Pondy Oxides and Chemicals Limited. Since December 2014, POCL has operated independently, no longer as a subsidiary of Pondy Oxides. The demerger resulted in the allocation of shares to existing shareholders, enhancing its capital structure and shareholder base.
