About Piramal Finance Ltd Dewan Housing Finance Corporation (DHFC), established on April 11, 1984, is one of India's leading housing finance companies, with a significant presence across 330 locations, including Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities, as of March 31, 2019. With two international offices in London and Dubai, DHFC offers an extensive range of housing loan products, including home loans, residential plot loans, construction financing, loans against property (LAP), and project loans, primarily catering to the low-to-moderate income (LMI) segment. The company also engages in project financing for residential developments and provides financial support for infrastructure and slum rehabilitation projects.
The company has pioneered innovative financial solutions, including the introduction of dual protection housing loans that offer complementary accident risk cover and property insurance. DHFC has emphasized affordability, contributing significantly to India's housing sector, including through the issuance of non-convertible debentures (NCDs) and Masala bonds on the London Stock Exchange. In addition to home finance products, DHFC has diversified into asset management and life insurance through joint ventures with Prudential Financial Inc., creating DHFL Pramerica Asset Managers Private Limited and DHFL Pramerica Life Insurance Company. However, in 2019, DHFC divested its stakes in these and other associate companies, such as Aadhar Housing Finance Limited and AvaNSE Financial Services Limited, to focus on its core business.
