PBM Polytex Ltd (PPL) is a prominent manufacturer and processor of various yarn types, including cotton, industrial, and hosiery yarns. Founded in 1919 and originally known as Petlad Bulakhidas Mills Co Ltd, the company underwent significant transformations, including being acquired by the House of Patodias in 1978 and rebranding to its current name in 1986. PPL operates two primary yarn spinning units located in Petlad, Gujarat, and Borgaon, Madhya Pradesh, the latter of which was commissioned in 2021-22.
The company is also involved in renewable energy, owning four windmills in Gujarat. PPL exports its products globally to markets in the US, UK, Germany, Belgium, and Japan, among others, and has received several accolades for its export excellence from TEXPROCIL. To further diversify, PPL has established a texturizing and filament yarn division in Silvassa and is a co-promoter of Eurotex Industries and Exports. The Petlad unit is ISO 9002 certified, reflecting its commitment to quality standards.
