About Paradeep Phosphates Ltd Paradeep Phosphates Limited, established in December 1981, is a prominent Indian fertilizer manufacturer primarily producing Di-Ammonium Phosphate (DAP), complex fertilizers of NPK grades, and gypsum-based products. With its manufacturing operations based in Paradeep, Odisha, and a head office in Bhubaneswar, the company serves farmers nationwide under the 'Navratna' brand. It also engages in trading fertilizers, ammonia, and other materials. Their production capabilities include a DAP plant with 720,000 metric tonnes annual capacity, a sulphuric acid plant with 660,000 metric tonnes, and a phosphoric acid plant now increased to 375,000 metric tonnes annually.
Initially a joint venture with the Republic of Nauru, the company became a public sector enterprise wholly owned by the Indian government before the 2002 strategic sale of 74% equity to Zuari Maroc Phosphates Pvt Ltd. The company has expanded its footprint by acquiring the Goa Fertilizer Plant in 2022 and recently commissioning new facilities to boost production capacity. Paradeep Phosphates made a successful IPO in May 2022, raising Rs. 1502 Crore to fuel further growth and modernization.
