Panchmahal Steel Limited (PSL) specializes in manufacturing stainless steel long products, such as bars, rods, and wires. Originally established for mild steel ingots, PSL underwent significant restructuring after a takeover in 1976. Shifting its focus to carbon, alloy, and stainless steel, the company expanded its production capabilities, setting up rolling and refining facilities and increasing its capacity to manufacture 75,000 tpa of steel billets and 120,000 tpa of rolled products. A key strength is PSL's ability to produce various grades of stainless steel, including austenitic, martensitic, ferritic, duplex, and low nickel-high manganese grades.
PSL's technological advancements include an ultra-high-powered electric arc furnace, AOD converter, ladle furnace, and continuous casting facilities. With ISO 9002 certification, the company emphasizes quality and innovation. In 2008, PSL enhanced its steel production capacity to 150,000 M.T. per annum. Despite past financial challenges, including BIFR registration in 2001, PSL continues to focus on meeting unique customer requirements and maintaining its market position.
