About Orient Ceratech Ltd

Orient Ceratech Ltd, originally incorporated as Orient Abrasives Limited in 1971, is primarily engaged in the production and trading of aluminum refractories, monolithics, and the mining of bauxite ores. The company also generates power, including wind energy, with manufacturing facilities in Porbandar, Gujarat, and windmill facilities in Rajasthan and Karnataka. Over the years, Orient Ceratech has expanded its power generation capabilities, including a 9 MW thermal power plant in Porbandar and wind power plants totaling 11.1 MW in Rajasthan and Karnataka. In 2015, Bombay Minerals Ltd. became the majority shareholder, acquiring a 38.36% stake, which led to a public offer for additional shares. The company has continued to grow its operations, notably acquiring a wind power plant in Gujarat for captive consumption and increasing its production capacity. In 2021, it acquired Orient Advanced Materials, which included a proppant manufacturing plant, further diversifying its business operations. The company partially resumed operations at its Porbandar plant to produce white fused alumina and other products in FY 2021-22.
