About National Oxygen Ltd National Oxygen Limited (NOL), founded in December 1974 by G N Saraf, specializes in the manufacturing of industrial gases. Initially focused on trading industrial and medical gases from 1975 to 1980, NOL transitioned to production with the commissioning of its first oxygen plant in Mathur, Tamil Nadu, in 1980. This was followed by the establishment of a dissolved acetylene plant in 1981 and a second oxygen plant in 1982, supported by SIPCOT loans.
The company expanded its capabilities by installing a nitrogen compression plant in 1985 and went public to fund a new 165-cu mtr ph capacity plant in Pondicherry, operational by 1987. Further expansion included a rights issue in 1994 for a liquid oxygen/nitrogen/argon plant with a capacity of 75 tpd, completed in 1995-96. NOL's strategic growth and diversification in gas production position it as a significant player in the industrial gases sector.
