Nahar Spinning Mills Limited, established in 1980 and becoming a public entity in 1983, specializes in manufacturing cotton, blended, and synthetic yarn as well as hosiery knitwear. The company operates several production units in Ludhiana and has expanded its operations with a modern dyeing unit and a spinning unit in Madhya Pradesh. Despite initial plans for an acrylic fibre project, financial constraints led to the project's cancellation, redirecting funds towards more profitable ventures in spinning and garment manufacturing.
The company has made significant investments in modernizing its machinery and production capacity. In 1999, it launched a 100% export-oriented spinning unit in Patiala, followed by the establishment of a Mercerising-cum-Dyeing Plant in 2000. By 2006, Nahar Spinning Mills further expanded its spinning capabilities with new spindles and rotors. A demerger in 2006 transferred its investment activities to Nahar Capital and Financial Services Limited, consolidating its focus on textile operations.
