NK Industries Ltd., established in 1987 and initially named N K Oil Mills Pvt Ltd, specializes in manufacturing castor oil and its derivatives, such as HCO and 12HSA. The company evolved into a public limited entity in 1992 and is recognized as a Government Export House. In 1994, it expanded its refining capacities through public funding, integrating advanced technologies including oil decanters, vertical continuous solvent extraction, and continuous oil refining, establishing an efficient manufacturing complex.
Targeting international markets, NK Industries exports castor oil to Europe, Brazil, and the US, catering to the lubricant, paint, cosmetic, and pharmaceutical industries. The company further expanded its global reach by setting up a trading branch in London. However, financial challenges led to it being declared a Sick unit in 1998-99, prompting a referral to the Board for Industrial and Financial Reconstruction (BIFR) for rehabilitation. Despite past setbacks, NK Industries remains a key player in the castor oil industry with a focus on innovation and international trade.
