MV Electrosystems Limited (formerly MV Electrosystems Private Limited) was incorporated in Delhi on July 3, 2009 and converted into a public limited company on November 26, 2021. Founded by promoter Mohit Vohra, the company is focused on the railway industry.
The company designs, develops, assembles and manufactures electrical and power electronics equipment used in railway rolling stock. Its product scope includes IGBT-based 3-phase drive propulsion equipment for electric locomotives, switchgear panels for railway coaches and EMUs, cable protection and management products, and other electrical components, systems and sub-systems.
Operationally, it began production of cable protection and interconnection products at Unit I in 2018 and moved into higher-value engineering in FY20 by starting indigenous design and development of propulsion equipment. It supplied 3-phase propulsion equipment to Chittaranjan Locomotive Works (CLW), which was commissioned for service trials by West Central Railways in 2023. The company completed a 50,000 km trial run for the propulsion equipment supplied to CLW/Indian Railways and received a final inspection certificate in 2024.
Strategically, MV Electrosystems positions itself within India’s rail electrification and Make-in-India trends, emphasizing in-house R&D and domestic manufacturing of power conversion systems, including an indigenously designed 3-phase propulsion system for a 6000 HP locomotive. It has also signed a three-year exclusive business cooperation agreement with South Korea’s PNC Technologies Co. Ltd. to manufacture, supply and distribute an Auto Fault Locator system for 25 kV overhead electrification lines, marking entry into rail electrical infrastructure products. The company has filed a Draft Prospectus with SEBI and plans an IPO via a Rs 290 crore fresh issue (equity shares of face value Rs 5).
