Monind Ltd, originally established as Annapurna Engineering Pvt Ltd in 1982, is a diversified company involved in residential development and ferro alloys production. Initially focused on investment trading, the company set up a ferro chrome manufacturing plant in Raipur, Madhya Pradesh, in 1991, expanding its capacity to produce various ferro alloys by 1996. Monind has a buy-back arrangement with Jindal Strips for ferro chrome and ventured into the sugar industry with a public issue in 1996 to finance an integrated sugar complex in Uttar Pradesh. The project includes power co-generation facilities, with the capacity expanded from 2500 to 5000 TCD by 2000. Monind exports surplus power to UPSEB under a Power Purchase Agreement, highlighting its multifaceted operations in both domestic and international markets. The company is engaged in affordable housing development, ranging from single-family homes to multiplexes, primarily in the UK and internationally.
