Mohit Industries Ltd., originally Mohit Fibres Pvt Ltd, was founded in February 1991 and transitioned to a public company in 1995. Specializing in the manufacture of Texturized Yarn and weaving it into Grey Cloth, the company began with a yarn trading operation. Located in Surat, Gujarat, Mohit Industries initially installed a manufacturing capacity of 600,000 meters per annum, which they plan to expand to 2,376,000 meters. The company has also initiated backward integration by establishing two texturizing plants with a capacity of 1,386 tpa.
Over the years, Mohit Industries has expanded its production capabilities significantly, including a unit in Silvassa with a capacity of 2,980 MTPA. The firm diversified into Autoclaved Aerated Concrete (AAC) Blocks in 2012. A major restructuring occurred in 2015-16 when a Scheme of Arrangement and Demerger with Bigbloc Construction Limited shifted the AAC Block Division's assets and liabilities to BCL, with shareholders receiving equivalent shares in BCL.
